Upon confirmation of your holiday booking, we request a 20% deposit. This deposit remains refundable up until the point at which we confirm that all of your accommodation has been reserved. After that the deposit is non-refundable. In the unlikely event that we cannot obtain accommodation for your trip, we will refund your deposit.
Six weeks before your holiday is due to commence, we will request the balance payment for your trip. For cancellation terms please see our terms and conditions page.
For holidays booked less than six weeks before their start date, full payment is taken upon booking and is only subject to our cancellation terms and conditions once we have confirmed that all of your accommodation has been reserved.
Please note: unless they are fully refundable, you should not book and/or pay for flights, trains etc until we have confirmed that all your accommodation for your walking holiday has been reserved.
Payment methods
Payment can be made by debit or credit card. Payments are securely processed through the Worldpay payment platform. A payment link is supplied and card details are entered securely by the customer. Customers’ card data cannot be accessed or stored by Discovery Travel.
Payments can also be made by bank transfer. Account details will be supplied upon request.
Pricing
Price per person
The price per person quoted is based on two people sharing either a double or a twin room. The same price per person applies if a triple room is requested for three people.
Single supplement
A single supplement applies if you are booking as part of a group but have a room of your own. The single supplement charge covers the higher cost of rooms for single people, whether that be a single room or single occupancy of a two-person room. The single supplement for each night of the holiday is added to the standard price per person to make up the total cost of the holiday.
Solo walker supplement
The solo walker supplement is applicable to customers walking on their own. The solo walker supplement covers the higher cost of rooms for single people, be that a single room or single occupancy of a two-person room, and it also covers the additional costs of luggage transfer and maps/guidebooks that would be shared across multiple people if walking in a group. The solo walker supplement for each night of the holiday is added to the standard price per person to make up the total cost of the holiday.
Solo walkers only pay the solo walker supplement. They DO NOT also pay the single supplement.
Extra night (standard)
Extra night (standard) is the cost per person for a room where you decide to stay for an extra day at one of the stopping points on the trail. This cost is based on two people sharing a room. A single supplement or solo walker supplement will be added if applicable.
Extra night (premium locations)
Accommodation in some overnight locations commands higher than average prices. Extra nights in these locations are priced accordingly. A single supplement or solo walker supplement will be added if applicable.
Travel Insurance
Our holidays do not include travel insurance. We strongly recommend you take out adequate travel insurance to include cover against cancellation, personal accident, illness and loss or theft of personal possessions or money.
