Cotswold Way
The glorious scenery of the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
Highlights
The Cotswold Way is the epitome of an English walking holiday with wonderful rural scenery and historic towns and villages dotted along the route.
This walk takes you through the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty via some of the area’s most historic and beautiful villages and towns such as Chipping Campden and Wotton-under-Edge, all elegantly constructed using the distinctive golden-coloured limestone of the region.
Much of the route follows the top of the steep escarpment on the western edge of the Cotswold Hills, which provides an undulating terrain and wide open views westward across the Vale of Evesham and affords glimpses of the River Severn and the Bristol Channel.
Your journey ends at the city of Bath, founded in Roman times around a thermal spa and subsequently developed by the Georgians into the handsome city of today. The city is a beautifully preserved World Heritage Site, where a visit to the Roman Bath itself is not to be missed.
