Dales Way
Wharfedale, the southern Pennines and into the Lake District
Highlights
Enjoy the variety of the beautiful Wharfe and Dee valleys, the fells of the southern Pennines and the shores of Lake Windermere, all along Dales Way.
The Dales Way gently ascends the beautiful Wharfedale valley, before climbing higher and crossing the Pennines into Dentdale. After Sedbergh, the route skirts around the Howgill Fells, arriving in the Lake District as a grand finale. The route is dotted with lovely villages, traditional pubs and cosy tea rooms.
This is a fantastic walk that embraces some of the finest scenery the north of England has to offer, straddling a number of distinct areas of countryside in a walking holiday that can be completed within a week or elongated for those wishing to stroll at a more leisurely pace.
